Bon Jovi’s open-air concert in the Stadium Letzigrund

Bon Jovi’s open-air concert takes place on Wednesday, 10th July, from 6.30 p.m. until 10.30 p.m. in the Stadium Letzigrund, and approx. 36’000 visitors are expected. Based on experience, this leads to heavy traffic around the stadium.  Furthermore, Badenerstrasse will be blocked from approx. 4.00 p.m. between Albisriederplatz and Letzigrund, due to security measures. Concert visitors are requested to use public transport. There will be special regulations regarding parking. Traffic jams can be expected on the on the motorway feeder roads in the direction towards Zurich (from Bern/Basel as well as from St. Gallen and Chur). Drivers are advised to avoid the district Altstetten in the vicinity of the stadium.

Züri Fäscht 5-7 July

Due to the „Züri Fäscht“ festival, all vehicle traffic is prohibited in the festival area from Friday, 5th July 6:00 a.m. until Monday, 8th July, 6:00 a.m. Thus, you should expect severe traffic obstructions. The festival area is located within the perimeter Bellerivestrasse – Feldeggstrasse – Dufourstrasse – Falkenstrasse – Stadelhoferstrasse – Rämistrasse – Hirschengraben – Seilergraben – Mühlegasse – Zähringerstrasse – Central – Bahnhofbrücke – Bahnhofquai – Uraniastrasse – Rennweg – Bahnhofstrasse – Talstrasse – Dreikönigstrasse – Alfred-Escher-Strasse – Mythenquai. The Bahnhofbrücke and the Central are closed from Friday, 5th July, 2:00 p.m. until Monday, 8th July, 5:00 a.m. Vehicle traffic is not allowed on the Bahnhofplatz from Friday until Sunday between 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

25th Zurich Pride Festival

Due to a demonstration on Saturday, 15th June 2019, there may be traffic obstructions in the inner city.
The 25th Zurich Pride Festival takes place from 14th to 16th June 2019. On Saturday, 15th June, you should expect traffic obstructions in the inner city due to a march. Some street sections will be closed to traffic and parking will be prohibited in certain places. The map shows the area affected by diversions.

Traffic restrictions Regenbergstrasse

From Monday, 27th May 2019, 5:00 a.m. until Sunday, 1st March 2020, 5:00 a.m., Regenbergstrasse towards the city centre will be closed to traffic in sections. Vehicles will be diverted via Wehntalerstrasse. The traffic obstructions are due to road and utilities construction works.

Schöneich tunnel

In a major project, the motorway will be covered between the junction Aubrugg and the Schöneich tunnel, and the latter will be renovated. The purpose of the works is to protect the residential area from the negative effects of the motorway and to create green area on the top of the new tunnel. The construction is planned so that the motorway will not be closed to traffic - only occasionally at night. The main tasks start on 4th March 2019.

Gubrist tunnel

The northern bypass of Zurich is one of the busiest road sections of Switzerland. To solve the capacity problems, the northern bypass will be expanded to have six lanes and a third tube of the Gubrist tunnel will be built. The schedule of the works: 
  • start of the main tasks: 2016
  • 3rd tube of Gubrist tunnel: 2017 - 2022
  • completing the route Gubrist Ost to Zurich North: 2020
  • renovation of the 1st and 2nd tube of Gubrist tunnel: 2022 - 2025
  • completing the road covering Weiningen: 2025

Traffic obstructions Seebacherstrasse

 
From Tuesday, 9th April 2019, 8.00 a.m. until Friday, 14th June 2019, 5.00 p.m., Seebacherstrasse will be closed to traffic between Schaffhauserstrasse and Landhusweg, in the direction towards Seebacherplatz. Vehicles will be diverted via Landhusweg - Katzenbachstrasse. The traffic obstruction is due to road and utilities construction works.
